“Give me a lamp that would look great in a loft in New York,” Monika Mulder said to herself before she sharpened her pencil and started designing Mobil 70 Pendant Black/Opal. She called to mind the American city with the distinct balconies and iron fire escapes that adorn the tall red-stone buildings in the bohemian neighbourhoods before continuing across the East River via Brooklyn Bridge, where she found the inspiration for Mobil.
A bohemian expression permeates the design, and just like Monika Mulder intended, the lamp has an elegance that is truly deserving of a loft in New York—but it looks just as stunning in minimalist and traditional Scandinavian homes. The Nordic design traditions have not been forgotten, and as is always the case with lamps from Pholc, Mobil 70 Pendant Black/Opal embodies simplicity and elegant minimalism.
