Description
VL Ring Crown Opal was designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen in the 1940s in connection with the erection of DR’s radio house. It was never actually used there, but the designer Finn Juhl incorporated it into his interior design for Bing and Grøndahl’s storefronts in Copenhagen in 1947.
The handblown opal glass is of the highest quality, ensuring that the lampshade and the light always appear uniform. The opening at the base of the glass lampshade creates a concentrated light, and at the same time illuminates the surroundings in a diffuse glow. The lovely pendant can be placed over a dining table where the downward-facing light can come into its own and illuminate the surface beneath while bathing the room in a comfortable atmosphere.
As a gorgeous contrast to the opal glass, the base is made from brass. This gives the lamp a Scandinavian expression that fits perfectly into modern décor, which continues to focus on brass elements. The untreated brass will develop a natural patina over time, so each lamp will eventually be unique.
