The design draws its roots from a rare fragment discovered in 1990 at No. 29 Sackville Street, nestled in London’s distinguished Piccadilly district. Originally block-printed in vivid, statement florals, the piece evoked a near Jacobean richness, believed to date as far back as circa 1730.

This area, once a haven for the minor aristocracy and later famed for fine tailoring, has long been associated with considered craftsmanship and quiet luxury. In that spirit, the Designers Guild studio revisited the archive with sensitivity and vision—distilling the historic pattern to its essence.

The resulting wallpaper is a flowing study of stylised leaves, repainted in elegant, softened brushstrokes. Printed onto smooth, high-quality non-woven paper, its quiet confidence suits both period architecture and modern interiors alike.
